Who We Are

Kia ora, I’m Leonie — the hands, heart, and creator behind Wool and Wick.

I grew up on a sheep and deer farm in the deep country, where life was shaped by early frosty mornings, the smell of fresh hay, muddy gumboots, mum’s home baking, and long summer days spent down at the creek. Those moments stitched themselves into who I am, and over time, they became the inspiration for every candle I pour.

For years, I searched for the “right” candle — something that actually smelled unique instead of the same few scents repeated everywhere, something that didn’t cost a fortune, and something that felt like home. I wanted fragrances that told a story. Scents that carried memories. Candles that were beautiful but still affordable, so everyone could experience a moment of calm, comfort, or nostalgia in their own space.

So, I began making my own.

Every candle I create is crafted with purpose — using 100% soy wax for a cleaner, eco-friendly burn, zinc and lead-free wicks, and reusable vessels that can go on to hold new memories long after the flame has burned out. Each fragrance is inspired by the moments that shaped my childhood but also made for you — so your home can become a place where new memories are made, linger, and last.
